6 weeks and counting...

Ok. It's been a week since I've posted and I have at least one person who is reading this - thanks, Ryan. ;-) I'll get better about updates, promise. It's T minus 6 weeks until I leave for Murder City. Here's where I'm at. I reserved my Uhaul for March the 30th. I'll load it up that day then leave the next morning on the 31st. I plan to stay in a hotel half way up there and drive in to Chicago some time the afternoon of April the 1st. After taxes and fees, the Uhaul is $549. That's up from my previous quote of $509. Still seems like a lot. I guess $19.99 a day adds up quickly...? Maybe it's all the mileage.


I was asked to turn in a resignation letter at Fossil so they know the last day I'll be in my position. It's March 26th. Mark your calendars! Thanks again, Ryan. I used a resignation letter you wrote for me when I relocated to Dallas from Austin. Still works!


Lastly, I have started collecting boxes for moving and I packed my first box! It was a weird experience. Emotional, exciting, and bittersweet. I feel like a big girl. Why can't I just pack a box and drink a beer? I packed books in case you're wondering:


That's my sweet Kitty, Ping Pong, in the picture. I will have to leave him behind with my dog, Oscar. Oscar has been with me for around 3 years. It makes me REALLY sad to think about leaving those two little nuggets. I'll talk about that in a few days after I get a cute picture of the two of them together. Kitty likes to sleep on Oscar. Oscar is so gentle he doesn't mind. I love it.
